Shib Shankar Building is a housing complex at college stoppage near Baguiati. The residents started Durga Puja in 1990; it is more like a ‘Barir Pujo’.
The pandal and decoration are done by the residents; these activities start from Chaturthi. The Durga idol arrives on Panchami. From Saptami to Nabami, all the residents of the housing have lunch together; the lunch is served by the residents only which adds more fun to their puja celebration.
On Ashtami, the residents get out together for a pandal hopping – they hire a car and start at 4 AM to visit all the puja’s in Kolkata.
On Dashami, after bisarjan, they organise different kind of games in which people of 8 to 80 can take part; and the celebration ends with a cultural programme.
